What is Millennial Arcade?
Millennial Arcade is a curated catalogue of the games we grew up with — the arcade cabinets, consoles, and after-school classics that raised a generation.
Ask someone born in the late 80s or 90s what a game is, and they won't recite a definition. They'll tell you about a place: a corner shop with a fighting cabinet running attract mode, a friend's living room with a console on the carpet, a school computer lab with one unblocked website. Millennial Arcade is a catalogue of those games — collected, described, and organized with care.
Why a catalogue?
There are thousands of retro game lists on the internet, and most of them are the same fifty screenshots ranked by nostalgia. We're building something slower and more deliberate:
- Curated, not scraped. Every game in the catalogue is chosen on purpose, with context on why it mattered — not auto-imported from a database dump.
- Organized by memory, not metadata. Browse by the places you played (the arcade, the family PC, the handheld under the covers) and the years that defined them.
- Honest about aging. Some classics are still brilliant; some are museum pieces. We say which is which, and how to actually play each one today, legally.
What launches first
The first release is intentionally small: a browsable catalogue of arcade-era fighters, platformers, and puzzle games — the cabinet classics — each with a profile page covering its history, why it stuck with us, and where to play it now.
From there, the catalogue grows era by era, guided by what the waitlist asks for.
Get in on day one
We're pre-launch. The waitlist is open — join it and you'll get one email the day we launch, nothing else. Be the first to walk the aisles.
